Pendulum Painting

Science Report Pendulum Painting

Aim/Hypothesis:
Our hypothesis was that it was going to be easy to make a pendulum painting device. Our aim was to make one.
Equipment:
  • 2 chairs
  • 1 ruler
  • paint/flour/sand
  • water
  • 1 funnel
  • String
  • Sellotape
  • 1 cup
  • Large paper
Method:
Tape the ruler to the two chairs and tie the string to the ruler. If you are using paint block the end of the funnel and put the paint and the water in. Tape the string to the funnel (you will need to have two bits of string to keep it straight). Put the piece of large paper underneath the two chairs and pull and release the funnel. If you use sand or flour use that instead of the paint and water.
Results:
First we tried using paint but it didn’t work because it was too watery. So we tried again but the hole was too small. So the paint was to thick to fit threw the hole or we are just unlucky. We tried to make a bigger hole and the paint was still to thick. So we tried flour and it didn't go through the funnel so we gave up.
Conclusion:

In the end our hypothesis was wrong and we didn’t achieve our aim nothing worked. Maybe next time we could plan more and come up with a better mix.
